Tim Tebow news: Denver Broncos petition to bring back Christian NFL star hits 10,000 signatures

A petition to bring Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow back to Sports Authority Field has now garnered more than 10,000 signatures while the petition's creator is hoping other National Football League (NFL) teams would take notice.

"10,000 is pretty amazing! We can all be proud of that number," wrote petition creator Will Garner on the change.org petition page.

Garner added, "Even if the Broncos don't pick him up, there really are teams that should consider picking him up, as he is better than what many teams have. He deserves a legit shot!"

The petition is addressed to Gary Kubiak, Denver Broncos' head coach, as well as the team's general manager and media relations personnel.

Garner mentioned that the said NFL team has already lost two of its main quarterbacks from their 2016 Super Bowl Championship and described Tebow as "a proven winner" and "an original Bronco who has the fire, desire, and love of the game to play as a Bronco again."

However, ESPN reported that Denver Broncos has just filled up its roster of maximum 90 players.

The two-time national champion, Heisman trophy winner, and NFL star has built his reputation and fame not just in the football field. While currently serving as a college football analyst for SEC network, Tebow is also well-known as an outspoken Christian and for his philanthropic works. He founded the Tim Tebow Foundation to help children around the world and also helped build the Tebow CURE hospital.

As a Christian, Tebow is widely known to give motivational speeches.

Just recently, the 28-year-old Christian footballer has spoken to the 220 high school student athlete attendees of the Greenville News Upstate Sports Awards night at TD Convention Center in Greenville.

"Be bigger than sports. Don't just be an athlete – be more than an athlete," Tebow said as the event's guest speaker.

He added, "Your career is short, but your life is going to be a lot longer."
