Jackson (James Wolk) makes the biggest decision of his life in the upcoming episode of hit CBS drama "Zoo" season 2.

To recap, the previous episode saw the tougher side of Abe as he tried to gather information on the plans being laid out to reverse the mutation. Though he appeared to have died, Cartermatt points out that he is still alive and well. Since the series is nearing its finale, fans can expect to see tensions escalating further along with more revelations.

Next week's episode is titled "Sins of the Father," which is probably a reference to Jackson's father given how much he has contributed to the story. Mitch's father Max Morgan (guest star Robin Thomas) is also set to appear in the episode. He might have a significant part to play in their research on where the final set of triple-helix animal bones can be found.

In the promo trailer for episode 9, the virus claims a new victim and the creature attacks Abraham (Nonso Anozie). Jackson arrives in time to save him, shooting the zombie before Abraham got hurt. "Can a cure be found?" the voiceover says. The next scene cuts to horses behaving wildly in a public area—causing panic among the citizens.

With still a few episodes until the finale, "Zoo" recently earned an early season renewal from CBS. Despite a ratings dip last season, the show redeemed itself and now remains as the network's highest-rating scripted program. The most recent episode reportedly drew 4.4 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adult viewers aged 18-49, easily outranking rookie programs "Brain Dead" and "American Gothic."

Season 2 will end on September 6 while season 3 is scheduled to premiere in summer 2017.

Keep tuning in to "Zoo" season 2 which airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
