Xiaomi Mi Box release date, specs news 2016: Android TV is set to come out in the US market; supports 4K video
There are many things to get excited about the recently concluded Google I/O Conference 2016. One of which is the unveiling of the Xiaomi Android TV box called Xiaomi Mi Box.
Hugo Barra, the global vice president of the Chinese tech manufacturer, revealed that Xiaomi and Google teamed up at the Google event to further discuss their plans to release an Android TV box. The upcoming device is said to compete with Apple's version of TV box, which is the Apple TV.

According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi Box has 4K full support at 60 frames per second. Fans from the West are going to be excited especially after the company announced that the device will make it in the US market pretty soon.
The previous versions of the Xiaomi's Mi Box were not powered by Android operating system. It also did not make it in the US market. The old model only had HD support and not 4K, which makes the new one a much superior version.
Meanwhile, Tech Crunch has already revealed the specs of the Xiaomi Mi Box. The publication reported that the device will run on a quad-core ARM Processor and a Mali 450 graphics. It will also have 2 GB of RAM for optimal usage and 8 GB storage, which is expandable through a USB dongle. According to the report, it will also have built-in Google Cast capabilities, which is said to give users the opportunity to display content on their TV screens from their iOS and Android handhelds.
The Mi Box box will also come with a Bluetooth remote, which has voice recognition capability.
Although Xiaomi and Google have yet to provide specific details with regard to its release date, many fans believe that it will be launched anytime soon in the U.S. There are also no reports in terms of the device's pricing details. As of the moment, fans will have to wait for the company to release an official statement with regard to these details.
