Xiaomi Mi 5s release date, specs news & update: New device to feature fingerprint sensor

If rumors ring true, the soon to be launched Xiaomi Mi 5s will come equipped with a circular iPhone-like home button, one that integrates Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The Snapdragon Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will be embedded under the phone's hood, carrying a quad-core 2.35GHz CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU.
The new fingerprint scanner and dual camera design will actually change the physical look of the phone, the rumors claimed.
This model will feature 6GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. The phone is also rumored to include a Force Touch enabled 5.15-inch screen with a 1,080 x 1,920 resolution.
Perhaps the most exciting leak so far is an image of the back of the Mi 5s in black. Some leaked photos show the dual-camera set-up, along with the tapered back design used in the earlier Xiaomi Mi 5. What is interesting to note is that the leaked picture of the two cameras perfectly matches a recent teaser made by Xiaomi. The same tapered back is seen on the Xiaomi Mi 5.
If the image is true, the Xiaomi Mi 5s will have Android 6.0.1 pre-installed, with MIUI 8 running on top.
There could be two different versions of the Mi 5s. The standard model, which could be priced at $300, and the premium Mi 5s Plus, which could come at a hefty price of $450.
A poster said the phone will launch on Sept. 29 through Chinese online retailer JD.com.
