Xbox One upgrade 2016? Microsoft and Oculus partnership to develop new Xbox One

If the latest rumors are true, Microsoft appears to be having a bunch of surprises for the Xbox One users this year. While the latest generation of their flagship home console is still a hit in the markets, Microsoft is reportedly planning to create a new and upgraded version of Xbox One which will be a powerful device to rival other competitors, such as the other rumored PlayStation NEO by Sony. In order to achieve its goal, Microsoft is rumored to sign a partnership deal with Oculus to develop the new Xbox One with VR capabilities.
According to the news website Yibada, Microsoft will be releasing two variants of the new Xbox One consoles, and the superior model is the one sporting VR features. Microsoft's partnership with Oculus will make the new Xbox One compatible with the Oculus Rift, a top-of-the-line VR headset released last year.
The Xbox One model designed for the Oculus Rift is given the codename "Scorpio," Kotaku reported. Scorpio is expected to be a huge profit-maker for Microsoft with its exciting features that will surely capture the interest of the gamers. Aside from its VR features, Xbox One Scorpio will also have a powerful GPU and superb computer system speed to run at 6 teraflops.
Meanwhile, the other new Xbox One version which is expected to be the base model is rumored to be the "slim version" of the current console design. While it is not going to be as powerful and speedy as the Scorpio model, the slimmed down Xbox One will be sporting a compact design and a larger hard drive capacity compared to the current Xbox One. This variant is expected to boast at least 2 TB of hard drive memory.
Kotaku also reported that the new Xbox One models will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 this month.
