Xbox One Sales vs PS4 Sales On Black Friday 2014: Xbox One Deals Overwhelm PS4

Microsoft provided heavy discounts on the Xbox One on Black Friday. As a result the Xbox overwhelmed the PS4 in stores and sold almost double the amount of units.
InfoScout compiled an early report on console sales based on information gathered by panelists who submitted receipts after buying units from stores. Over 180,000 receipts were submitted to InfoScout and they showed that the Xbox One accounted for around 53 percent of all console sales, while the PS4 took up a much smaller 31 percent share.
Comparing the sales figures of the Xbox One against the PS4, Forbes notes that the Xbox One sold better as its price was drastically reduced by Microsoft. This resulted in stores offering great deals on the Xbox One and bundling it with a number of games.
The $329 Xbox One deal from Target, was the most popular with shoppers as the store offered the Xbox One along with Assassin's Creed: Unity and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, topped off with a $50 Target gift.
Among the Black Friday deals on the PS4, the most popular turned out to be the $399 from Walmart which saw two games, The Last of Us and GTA 5 bundled along with the console.
Last year too, the PS4 lost during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales period as it could not meet demand due to supply shortfalls. However, the PS4 has remained the most popular console since its launch last year when it quickly overtook the Xbox One.
Microsoft has introduced heavy discounts, coupled with a watered down console, as a strategy to outsell the PS4 and reclaim some of the ground it lost last year. This strategy paid off heavily during the holiday sales period.
Meanwhile bundled games with consoles dominated and accounted for 90 percent of all sales.
