Xbox One S release date news 2016: Amazon listing spills latest Xbox release on Aug. 2

Microsoft's home console, Xbox One, is about to get an updated design with the launching of Xbox One S this year. However, the Redmond-based tech giant has not yet disclosed the release date for the said device. It is expected that the Xbox One S will sport a more classic and thinner appearance than the original Xbox One, although it remains to be seen if the next big thing in the electronic gaming world will surpass its predecessor. The pubic may know the answer on Aug. 2, as a recent Amazon listing may have already spilled the much-kept release date of the Xbox One S and revealed the date.

Nothing is finally just yet as Microsoft will be the official source of information regarding the release date of the Xbox One S. Nevertheless, the latest listing from the Spanish version of the Amazon website caused a stir among the fans and tech enthusiasts, as Microsoft is the one expected to release the information. According to the report from iDigital Times, it appears that Amazon has already gone ahead of Microsoft's go signal to announce the Xbox One S's release date, which according to the Spanish Amazon site's listing, will be on Aug. 2.

Microsoft has already announced earlier at last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 that the new face of Xbox One will be seen sometime in August, although the tech company did not reveal an exact date of release during their presentation. It is not surprising that the Amazon is already showing the initial details of the Xbox One S, including its release date, although interestingly, the main Amazon website has the release of Xbox One S on Aug. 31. To note, the main Amazon listing may have placed August 31st as the home console's date of release as it is the last day of the month. As Microsoft has not yet really revealed the release date of the Xbox One S, Aug. 31 is likely to be just a placeholder date.
