'WWE 2K17' release date, DLC news update: 2K Games unveils DLCs and Universe Mode for upcoming title

2K Games has finally released the full details of the downloadable content for "WWE 2K17" as well as the game's Season Pass and the Digital Deluxe Edition. Furthermore, the video game developers have unveiled the Universe Mode.

The development team has revealed all the superstars featured in the forthcoming game. Fans were excited that 2K Sports made weekly reveals, but were disappointed when stars such as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were not on the list. Gamers are hoping that new superstars will be added to the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) pack.

The Season Pass will be available for $29.99 and it will consist of the Accelerator, Future Stars Pack, Hall of Fame Showcase, Legends Pack, and the New Moves Pack.

On the other hand, the Digital Deluxe Edition will be available on PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One consoles for $89.99. It is currently available for pre-order. Gamers who will purchase this edition will get a copy of "WWE 2K17" as well as its Season Pass and its My Player Kick Start. Furthermore, the edition will include a "WWE 2K16" MyPlayer Kick Start and a Goldberg Pack; PS4 consoles will also have a Theme.

For PS3 users, the Digital Deluxe Edition will cost $79.99, and it will consist of a copy of the game, its Season Pass, and the NXT Legacy Pack.

Cristo Kyriazis, the designer in charge of the Universe Mode, recently revealed that the mode will be based on experiences from the WWE shows and events wherein superstars get to compete with one another for championships. Kyriazis also stated that the team intended to give players fantasy scenarios that could possibly happen in WWE. The best feature for the upcoming mode is how it lets players take control of the game and customize it according to their wildest ideas.

"WWE 2K17" will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 11, for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and for PCs. The DLC release date has yet to be announced.
