'Wonder Woman' film scheduled for Summer 2017 release; Gal Gadot answers critics

Based on the DC comics of the same name, "Wonder Woman" is an upcoming American superhero film starring Gal Gadot as the title role. The film is scheduled to premiere on June 23, 2017. It will chronicle the early life of Diana Prince before she transformed into Wonder Woman.
Forbes recently caught up with film producer Deborah Snyder, where she discussed the upcoming DC comics adaptation. This year marks the 75th year of the "Wonder Woman" character and Snyder couldn't be prouder of this endeavor. The producer even mentioned that this is the perfect time to have the heroine back to the big screen.
"Maybe it's time. Because there's been a lot of talk about gender equality, and Wonder Woman historically through the comics has always represented women's place in the world, and she's changed and evolved as women have. I think right now that is the dialogue, the fact that she's coming out on the big screen. I think that is an amazing and wonderful thing, and it's something I'm enormously proud of," she said. Snyder further explained the value of a stand-alone film for Wonder Woman, stating that it is about time that a strong female character comes out to empower both young girls and boys.
On another note, viewers had already seen Wonder Woman in the box-office hit "Batman v Superman," so her final look will not be much of a surprise to anticipating fans. However, Gadot recently received criticisms concerning her look as the Amazon princess, with people saying that she does not look too "bosomy."
In a report by Entertainment Weekly, Gadot addressed the critics in last Thursday's episode of Conan by saying, "Yes, there were some people who had a lot to say about my hearts. At the end of the day you can't please them all, and I completely understand that. And if you want to be original to the story, the Amazons used to have only one breast, because it was in the way with the [bow and arrow]."
"Wonder Woman" is directed by Patty Jenkins with a screenplay by Jason Fuchs. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on June 23, 2017.
