'Winds of Winter' release date, spoilers news: Another book spoiler released by George RR Martin? Double book release expected by 2017?

The last time author George RR Martin released a book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series was in 2011, when "A Dance of Dragons" was published. Since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating the sixth book in the series, but there are no signs that it is publishing anytime soon.

What people know so far about "The Winds of Winter," the anticipated sixth book, are all based on spoilers that the author has been dropping personally.

For instance, the blog Winter Is Coming said that a certified "A Song of Ice and Fire" fan named Mr. Seretonin Man did a bit of photo manipulation based off a video of Martin working on "The Winds of Winter" in front of his computer. The video was part of his Skype interview with John Oliver's "Last Week Tonight" two years ago.

Apparently, the part that Martin was working on included Asha and the Lord Reaper of Pyke. It would be remembered that the Asha Chapter immediately follows the Theon chapter, which Martin shared at Balticon.

According to Australian Network News, it was on that same interview where Martin admitted that "The Winds of Winter" would feature three major deaths. He even intimated that there could be more.

The 67-year-old Martin, the brains behind the widely popular book series that inspired the HBO hit "Game of Thrones," remain mum on details about his forthcoming book, but there are speculations that it could be out by 2017. Fans certainly hope it would be released before season 7 of the hit series comes out in the summer of 2017.

The Morning Ledger said that the hold up with "The Winds of Winter's" release could have a lot to do with its simultaneous development with book seven, which is titled "A Dream of Spring." If that were the case, then fans could expect a double release come 2017, probably before "Game of Thrones" season 7 starts.

Still, as there is no official statement coming from the author himself yet, every news and speculation should be taken with a grain of salt.

Keep coming back for more details on the release of Martin's "The Winds of Winter."
