Willie Robertson Expresses Pride for Daughter Sadie Robertson's Recent YouTube Video
Willie Robertson, one of the stars of the "Duck Dynasty" reality show, has spoken out in praise of his daughter Sadie Robertson and her recent YouTube video that encouraged teenagers to turn to God when they struggle with body image issues and low self-confidence.
Robertson told The Christian Post in a recent interview how proud he is of his daughter for her strong relationship with God, especially at the young age of 17.
"She just put up a thing on YouTube and Instagram and it just kinda tells you to be real," Robertson told the media outlet. "We are proud that she takes that and uses that platform from the Lord, and she's just age 17. [...] I can't say I was like that at 17."
Robertson added to The Christian Post that Sadie's level-headed personality and strong Christian faith have come from the advice she has received from several of her family members.
When CP asked Robertson where his daughter gets her wisdom and faith, Robertson replied: "Well, I think from a combination of everybody. I wish I could claim it all, but her mother as well, and even the grandparents on both sides."
"I think both have had an influence on her life. She's a learner, she listens to people and she's gotten advice through Bible class and youth groups. She has picked up a lot of advice. We couldn't be more proud of how she's taken that platform," he added.
Sadie recently posted a video on YouTube in which she discusses issues troubling many teens, including low self-esteem and issues with body image.
In the video, the 17-year-old admits that she, just like other teenagers, struggles with the same issues, but looks to God as her "rock" when she feels uncertain or insecure.
"Don't look at somebody and say, 'This is what I want to be,'" she says in the video. "Because in reality if you are seeking self-approval or human approval, you are never going reach your goal. You can only reach it by God."
