Willie Robertson Endorses La. Gov. Bobby Jindal for President
Willie Robertson, star of the A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty," recently announced his endorsement for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal for president in the 2016 election.
Robertson told Fox Talk Radio's "Kilmeade and Friends" this week that he plans to endorse Jindal because the southern Governor is a "godly man."
"He's a great man. He's a Godly man," the reality star told the radio program. "He's honest, and so I'd like to see if he makes a run at it. And, you know, if so, we'll definitely be trying to help him out."
According to the Times-Picayune, Robertson said in an interview last year that he was still contemplating whether he would endorse Jindal for 2016, saying he had other candidates in mind as well.
"I'll wait and see what (the other candidates) are, what their thoughts are, and what their core beliefs are. I know a lot about his. There are others, too. There are other people I think can govern well. So I always keep an open mind. I watch it, keep up with it, with who's running. It should be a fun battle, and it should be a fun race. I think it will be entertaining for all of us to get to know who's in the running for president, and I look forward to it," Robertson said in June 2014.
Previously, Jindal visited Robertson's home in Monroe, Louisiana to award Willie Robertson with the inaugural Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence in 2014 for his local work in growing his multi-million dollar duck call business.
