The wife of a hostage killed at the hands of the Islamic State's recently identified "Jihadi John" says she wants the terrorist captured alive, rather that dying an "honorable death" in action.

Dragana Haines, widow of David Haines, a British aid worker captured by the Islamic State and beheaded in 2014, recently said that she does not want "Jihadi John" killed in action, but rather captured and face justice.

Intelligence groups recently identified "Jihadi John," the Islamic State militant who has carried out beheadings of western hostages in many online videos, as Londoner Mohammed Emwazi, who obtained a college degree in computer programming before traveling to Syria to fight with the Islamic State.

Emwazi is suspected of beheading Haines and several other western hostages, including Britons and Americans, in which he often threatens viewers before carrying out the brutal beheading task.

Dragana Haines told the British Broadcasting Corp. that she wants Emwazi captured, not killed in action, a move that she describes as an "honorable death."

"I think he needs to be put to justice, but not in that way," Haines added.

Bethany Haines, daughter to slain David Haines, told ITV News that although she is pleased to learn that the British government has identified "Jihadi John," she will feel full closure when the terrorist is dead.

"It's a good step but I think all the families will feel closure and relief once there's a bullet between his eyes," Bethany Haines said.
