'Wayward Pines' Season 3 air date, plot spoilers: Upcoming season to feature human's final hours, rise of the Abbies

Fox has not yet announced the air date of "Wayward Pines" Season 3, but as early as now, there are a lot of interesting rumors regarding the future twists and turns in the suspense thriller TV series. Even the author of the original book trilogy also has something to say about the dark fate that awaits the humans in the third season.
As reported by Game N Guide, renowned author Blake Crouch teased the fans in a recent interview that the third season does not bode well for the humans. Crouch, who also serves as one of the executive producers of the show, revealed that Season 3 may see the final moments of the humans on Earth. The downfall of the humans might already be foreseen by the viewers as the malevolent Abbies have been trying to eradicate the human race for so many years. This time around, the Abbies is expected to succeed in eradicating the mankind with the leadership of the race's ruthless ruler, Queen Margaret (Rochelle Okoye).
As noted by Master Herald, Queen Margaret already knew that the Abbies are actually the smarter and superior being over the humans. This was also proven in the Season 2 finale wherein the Abbies evidently outmatched the humans in an intense battle. Crouch added that they actually intended to show the huge loss of humans in the Season 2 finale as they design their downfall in the third season. The humans will finally learn the hard way that they are no match against the Abbies, which are first believed to be the lower beings, inferior to the strength and intelligence that the humans possess.
So far, Fox has not yet revealed when will "Wayward Pines" return for its new season. For now, the fans are expecting that the next chapter of the series will be aired sometime in the early part of 2017.
