Netflix's sophomore science fiction drama "Wayward Pines" recently premiered with an all-new storyline, and more intense episodes await fans as the show heads to its fifth episode.

To recap, last week's episode saw Xander after he was trapped in a pit dug by the Abbies. He was able to get himself out and return to the town when he meets Adam Hassler, who appeared to be disheveled and heavily bearded. Theo entered the scene to treat Hassler, and Jason grilled Theo to find out if Hassler divulged anything about the Abbies. Jason went on to explain that Hassler belongs to the 12 "nomads" Pilcher sent out of Wayward Pines several years ago to probe on the world beyond the town, and he was the only individual to make it back.

Along with a group, C.J. headed outside the fence to search for fertile soil. C.J. told Theo that their trip is more of giving hope to the residents than it is about searching for food. Theresa insisted on joining the group to find Ben, but when they discover his remains, she blames Hassler for what happened. Elsewhere, Rebecca tried to protect a young girl named Lucy from Megan's reproduction mandate. The episode's final moments showed Lucy's brother as he encountered an Abbie on the town's merry-go-round.

Meanwhile, this Wednesday's episode will feature Rebecca as she discovers the origins of Wayward Pines. The official synopsis for "Sound the Alarm" reads:

"Rebecca recalls first meeting Pilcher as an architect and the creation of Wayward Pines is revealed. Theo is shocked by a secret Rebecca divulges to him; Teresa tells CJ and Adam she wants to live outside the protected walls as Megan experiments on the first female Abbie that has been captured."

Keep tuning in for the latest episodes of "Wayward Pines" season 2 which airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
