'Wayward Pines' season 2 spoilers news: Theo demands answers from Jason; as a mysterious character joins the fray

"Wayward Pines" season 2 dropped a bomb when it returned to the small screen with its premiere episode last week. There were new characters, a storyline that has seemingly been rehashed, and a new town leader. However, the first episode of season 2 left viewers wondering what would become of newly reanimated surgeon Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) and Ben Burke (Charlie Tahan).

Theo and Ben have been forced outside the town's walls, with the former having his own taste of this strange world where public executions seem to be the norm. Episode 2, titled "Blood Harvest," will see Theo trying to adjust to his new life in "Wayward Pines."

Entertainment Weekly reports that Theo won't fall prey to the Aberrations since their First Generation Leader, Jason Higgins (Tom Stevens), would realize that since Theo is the only qualified surgeon in the town now, he could be of practical use to them.

According to the episode synopsis on Fox Flash, Theo will use his reputation as the good doctor to draw information from Jason, primarily about this Idaho town that seems to hold pieces to several puzzles. Apparently, Theo would also inquire about his wife, Rebecca (Nimrat Kaur), but the secrets that would be revealed could make or break their relationship.

A new character will make his first appearance on Wednesday's episode, with Djimon Housou playing CJ Mitchum, one of "Wayward Pines'" original residents who serves as the town's historian. Mitchum would be some sort of a mysterious character with vital information on the ins and outs of the town, including its multifaceted origins. It remains to be seen whether Mitchum could be the person who will bridge the gap between "Wayward Pines" of the old world and the new.

"Wayward Pines" season 2 episode 2 will air on Wednesday, June 1, at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
