Watch Dogs 2 release date, news: 4K footage featuring first 14 minutes of gameplay on PS4 Pro revealed; Ubisoft talks game's low preorder sales

Ubisoft's open-world hacking game "Watch Dogs 2" arrives next week, and a new 4K footage featuring its first 14 minutes on the newly-released PS4 Pro has been unveiled.
Uploaded to YouTube by a user named Arekks Gaming, the video shows off the game's opening when players are being initiated into Dedsec, the notorious hacker group in "Watch Dogs 2." It also gives a glimpse of some stealth gameplay, cinematics and outstanding combat sequences. Further details on the game's PS4 Pro enhancements have yet to be revealed, but players can be sure that Ubisoft will be releasing a patch to optimize gaming experience in the console.
During an earnings call last week, Ubisoft management discussed the noticeable decline in "Watch Dogs 2" preorders. According to CEO Yves Guillemot, the preorder numbers are lower than what the company initially wanted. "The preorders are not as high as we thought they could be but we feel like the experience is a fantastic experience so we feel it can do extremely well," he stated.
CFO Alain Martinez, who was also present during the event, noted that preorders are not always indicative of a game's overall sales. He mentioned that Ubisoft's efforts to support games with new DLCs that address fan comments can significantly help a game succeed long after its launch.
"What we are trying to say are preorders are indeed very important, quality is very important, but also the attention that you put in the game over the long term is also very very key," Martinez clarified. Event though the preorder sales were not as high as Ubisoft had hoped, reports say that the hack-em-up game can fill the void caused by a lack of Assassin's Creed game this year.
"Watch Dogs 2" officially launches No. 15 on PS4 and Xbox One. However, the game will be released for PC users have to wait until Nov. 29 for its release.
