Vivo V5 news, release date and official specs: gamechanging smartphone features 20MP selfie camera

Another Guangdong-based smartphone player is about to take a much bigger slice in an industry that is now being spearheaded by its fellow manufacturers Xiaomi Inc. and Huawei Technologies — and that is not an easy feat as China is possibly the most challenging market there is globally. This time around, the iteration is aiming at one of the most prized features of any smartphone nowadays.
Vivo V5 is just like the other powerful smartphones in the competition lately. But the unit has trumped everything else in the competition with its front-facing snapper — an unbelievable 20-megapixel (MP) camera.
A heralded successor of Vivo V3, Vivo V5 boasts the title "perfect selfie" as it is equipped with massive megapixels along with its "Moonlight Glow" flash. Furthermore, the device's "Face Beauty 6.0 Mode" should be able to enhance selfie images while it reduces blemishes and can make faces much slimmer than usual.
On the other hand, Vivo V5 is encased in a 5.5-inch high-definition (HD) display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. Moreover, the device is armed with an eye protection mode, which filters out blue light in order to reduce strain. It is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core MediaTek 6750 that is clocked at 1.5GHz; a 4GB random-access memory (RAM) and 32GB of internal storage are likewise available.
Vivo V5 is also positively aesthetically beautiful. It showcases round edges with a metal unibody and antenna bands right at its back. The bottom part of the smartphone houses the 3.5mm headphone jack, its microphone, the micro-USB port and a speaker grille. Meanwhile, a fingerprint sensor is embedded in its home button that cannot be pressed physically. A pair of backlit capacitive navigation buttons can also be seen right on either side of the home button.
Vivo V5 will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of the firm's proprietary FunTouch OS 2.6. Preorders for the device will commence on Nov. 16 to Nov. 25.
