The tension is only starting to build up in the fourth season of History Channel's hit action epic "Vikings" as the Norse King Ragnar Lothbrok (played by Travis Fimmel) faced a shameful defeat in the hands of his equally strong and willful sibling, Rollo (played by Clive Standen).

As reported in International Business Times, Ragnar and his huge fleet of heavily-armed warriors was seen in Episode 7 trying to invade Paris, but their conquest was halted by the army of Rollo. They were met with dozens of fire arrows aimed at Ragnar's group along the river, and the Norse king's group was seen surprised with this sudden assault with some of their ships damaged in the encounter. Knowing the fierceness and willingness of Ragnar to take what he thinks is rightfully his at all cost, it can be expected that he will rise from this failure and make a surprising comeback in the next episode. Inquisitr noted a scene towards the end of Episode 7 where a highly furious Ragnar talking to a severed head, which likely came from a random warrior from Rollo's fleet, thus suggesting that the Viking's plan is still on.

The upcoming episode of "Vikings" is entitled "Portage," which may suggest that Episode 8 will involve something about the process of portaging. The BitBag noted the term "portaging" as the process of carrying a boat or cargo across the land. It could mean that the cargo will be dragged around a river obstacle or between two bodies of water, and the place where the cargo is being carried is called the "portage."

If the title of Episode 8 is any indication of what can be expected of what will happen next, "portaging" can be Ragnar's new technique to continue his conquest of Paris and to ultimately catch his brother Rollo's group by surprise, just like what the latter did to him in the previous episode. As seen from Episode 7, Ragnar still has some surviving ships that are left to be portaged. Although it is not known if the process of portaging will be an effective way to destroy Rollo's defenses, the next episode is expected to feature another round of intense showdown between the two Viking leaders. The extent of the impending battle has yet to be revealed.
