As they await the show's third season, fans continue to rave about the season premiere and the series as a whole.

Rumors on the third season heated up with the release of a trailer earlier this month. The trailer provided clues on the developments in the third season. It also indicated that a prophecy made by a seer (John Kavanagh) about "Stones and Bones" would play a major part in the season.

As for rivalries, the teaser showed that the old conflict between Rollo (Clive Standen) and his brother Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) is still raging. However, it was hinted that they will eventually reconcile to some extent in the third season.

Killings, raids and sieges also look to be a major part of the upcoming season. One aspect of this was revealed in the teaser which saw Ragnar on a ship adorned with human skulls. Sieges and raids will come courtesy of the Viking attack on Paris, which is rumored to have been filmed on a massive scale.

As for the cast, so far it has been revealed that in addition to the main cast members Linus Roache (who plays ruthless King Ecbert of Wessex) and Amy Bailey (who plays Princess Kwenthrith of Mercia) will return for Season Three.

However, with the action involving France, new characters have been roped in to play characters from within the French monarchy. Among the new characters are actor Lothaire Bluteau (who is set to play the role of Emperor Charles of France) and Morgane Polanski (who will take on the role of Princess Gisla, his daughter).
