At the moment, the Utah Jazz are hovering around the middle of the Northwest Division.

They have an 7-8 record but have done so without one of their main contributors.

George Hill has been out due to injury and while many are hoping that he would return to the lineup soon, his name is also being linked to a potential move that would bring him back to the Eastern Conference.

According to some rumors, the guard may opt out of his current contract with the Jazz and move to the Big Apple to join Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony in the New York Knicks.

There has been more than one instance that this has been said and Hill may simply be looking for a team that could maximize his chances of winning while he still can.

Hill has been around the league since his arrival in 2008. Picked 26th overall by the San Antonio Spurs, Hill made a name for himself during his five-year stint with the Indiana Pacers. During that time he averaged 12.3 points per game in a budding core that helped the Pacers become an Eastern Conference heavyweight.

He moved to the Jazz this year and has played seven games with the team, averaging 20.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

At 30 years old, Hill is easily at his peak at the moment and needs a team that could bring him a challenge and fight for playoff spots.

The Jazz are certainly able to do that, but they have been inconsistent and Hill may prefer the style of the Knicks.

Hill is only contracted until this year and he may be free to go elsewhere if he is not re-signed. It is also possible that Utah will try to trade him this year so they can get something in return and it remains to be seen who the Knicks can give back if they are interested in a trade.
