"UnReal' wrapped up its second season with two characters being involved in a serious accident — hinting more complications when the Lifetime drama returns for its third season next year.

To recap, the season 2 finale saw how determined Coleman and Yael were in exposing the dating show's secrets. Rachel and Quinn start to worry about losing their jobs if the press gets hold of the truth. After finding out that his ex-girlfriend Mary was raped, Jeremy stepped forward and did the unthinkable just to win her trust back. He also told Rachel and Quinn that he will take care of the Coleman/Yael situation. The last moments of the episode revealed that Coleman and Yael's car had been run off the road after an accident.

Three days prior to its sophomore premiere, Lifetime greenlit a season renewal for the show. This means that viewers will still see if Coleman and Yael will survive or if Jeremy will be arrested for orchestrating a car crash. As bad as the crash appears, it does not necessarily mean that there will be no survivors.

Speaking with TV Line after the finale, star Constance Zimmer said the recent events will be "something for all of [the characters] to address" come season 3. "Somehow, somebody has to get in trouble," she explained. "I don't know how that's going to happen or if that's going to happen, but we have to have consequences for our actions."

In terms of Rachel and Quinn's dynamic, Zimmer hints the two female characters will be closer to each other because of the serious complications last season. "I do think Rachel and Quinn will go into the next season bonded more than ever," she tells IndieWire in a post-finale interview. "I'm excited about that because I was really upset this season by how much Rachel and Quinn were at odds. I like them so much more when they are bonded – when they cannot leave each other's side — and it kind of feels like that's what's going to happen."

"UnReal" season 3 is expected to premiere next year on Lifetime, but the network has yet to announce an official air date.
