After 12 years on CBS, "Two And a Half Men" is now on its last season. It was announced recently that the show would end with a one-hour series finale which will be aired on Feb. 19 at 9 p.m.

The show, which is currently the longest running sitcom on American television, has seen many ups and downs over the years, and even the departure of its top-billed star Charlie Sheen.

Even after Sheen was fired, the show managed to survive and retain much of its fan base. To many fans, the departure of Sheen was one of the most infamous in television history. The fans criticize Chuck Lorre, the show's creator, for pulling the plug on the TV series. Sheen disproved of Lorre's action and even challenged him to a fight.

This incident led to Sheen getting fired in 2011. To fill the void, Ashton Kutcher was hired to play the lead character in the series. Kutcher's contract made him the highest-paid star on television having earned some $24 million since he appeared on the show. His co-star on the show Jon Cryer also earned $21 million making him the second highest earning star on network TV.

However, it seems that the high salaries for the cast contributed to the shutting down of the show. It was rumored that the show was becoming too expensive to keep on air.

Last season also saw the departure of Angus T. Jones who played Cryer's son, after he criticized the show and implored people to "stop watching" it.

In spite of all the cast departures, the show has continued to pull in around 10 million viewers in its current season and score 2.5 in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

The current season has seen Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) and Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) enter into a fake marriage so that they can adopt a child, and finally bringing a six-year-old boy home.
