'Turn: Washington's Spies' Season 4 spoilers: AMC series renewed for fourth and final season, story to feature the conclusion of American Revolutionary War

After wrapping up its third season last month, "Turn: Washington's Spies" has been renewed by AMC for its fourth season slated to premiere next year. However, the show's return will be bittersweet for fans because it was also confirmed to be the farewell season.
The historical program's recent renewal is unsurprising at all because of its good ratings performance. Season 3 had an average of 1.2 million viewers per episode and almost 600,000 among adults aged 25-54.To date, the show remains as one of the "top 10 most affluent scripted dramas" with adult viewers aged 18-49 and 25-54.
Season 4 will focus on the dramatic end of the Culper Spy Ring along with the conclusion of the American Revolutionary War. General George Washington (Ian Kahn) will lead his men to a historic victory resulting in the country's freedom from colonizers. Woodhull and the Culper Spy Ring's sacrifices will finally pay off when the series comes to a close.
In a press statement, creator Craig Silverstein expressed his gratitude for fans who have been following the program since day one. "I am so pleased to be able to bring the story of the Culper Ring to its epic conclusion, at the point where the revolutionary war ends and the great American experiment truly begins," he said. "This series has been a joy to work on.
According to Deadline, the renewal came after the annual gathering of the show's fans which happened last week. Seven hundred people attended the event in Long Island to celebrate the Culper Spy Ring and view historical places featured in the drama.
"Turn: Washington's Spies" is a historical drama based on Alexander Rose's book titled "Washington's Spies: The Story of America's First Spy Ring (2007)" about the history of the American Revolution's Culper Spy Ring. The show first aired on AMC back in 2014.
"Turn: Washington's Spies" season 4 premieres next year on AMC, but the network has yet to announce an exact release date.
