'True Detective' Season 3 spoilers news: Olivia Munn drops a hint about a third season?
Rumors about a third season for "True Detective" has been making rounds after the show's successful two-year run, and it seems like actress Olivia Munn dropped a massive clue about the series' production.

The actress posted a photo in her Instagram account as she posed with Jillian Bell from "The NightBefore," with former "Arrested Development" actor Jason Bateman and Abby Lee from "MadMax." The caption reads: "True Detective Season 3 #officexmasparty."
Munn's caption sent fans into a frenzy as this is the closest thing they got when it comes to clues about the third season of "True Detective." However, the actress is clearly not confirming anything. HBO remains to keep the lid on details surrounding the show's production, and the network has not yet announced if "True Detective" will indeed return or not.
Meanwhile, CarterMatt weighed in on the rumored comeback of the show, saying how a future lead should be. "A future 'True Detective' lead does obviously need the sort of steely-eyed determination that we've seen from some of these past leads, but at the same time, they almost may need to learn the error of their ways if that is possible. We'd actually like to see something more akin to an inherently good man or women trying to keep it together, whose faults lie more directly at the foot of the job. For example, what if they are framed, or find themselves the victim of a vast conspiracy within a precinct? Not every detective within this franchise needs to live the worst life possible in order to do their job," the post reads.
HBO president Michael Lombardo was at the TCA press event last year, and he expressed that he is open for another season for "True Detective" if creator Nic Pizzolatto is willing. "If [Nic Pizzolatto] wanted to do another season, I told him our door is open. I'd love to do another season with him...I think he's an enormously talented writer, and I have already called him and said, 'Nic, if you want to do a Season 3, let's start talking,'" Lombardo said via Cinemablend.
According to Enstarz, there are speculations that the latest season of "True Detective" will possibly return to TV screens next year. Even with only two seasons, the show garnered wide popularity, as it reportedly clocked in an average of 12 million audiences per episode.
