'Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5' Officially Announced; Game Set for Release before Year-end

Earlier this week, it was revealed that "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" will be landing on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before the year draws to a close. Soon after that, the game is expected to arrive on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
The official announcement of the game came from Activision, the publisher, which hinted last year that the game was in development and could land soon.
Last year, there were multiple hints on Twitter as Tony Hawk referred to the game. He also pointed out in a Reddit "ask me anything," or AMA, that the game could come to current generation consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. With the official announcement came a number of details about "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5." They pointed towards the game returning to its "pro skater" roots.
The last "pro skater" game in the series arrived in 2002. Since then there has been a number of other games focused on the story mode. With the upcoming "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5," Tony Hawk said there will be a refocus on the original games and it will involve "ripping with friends."
The game is being developed by Robomodo and Disruptive Games and will be published by Activision. After the news about the game's release was announced, Activision sent out a number of screenshots focusing on the characters in it.
Additional details were also provided about the game by the publisher. These pointed towards players being able to use power-ups and shooting projectiles when participating in certain missions.
Details about an online mode were also revealed. The company stated that players will be able to traverse missions solo or in a cooperative mode. Also when players shift between the online and offline versions of the game, the progress made by playable characters can be transferred in a seamless fashion.
The icing on the cake is that players can also design skate parks in the game and share these with their fellow players online.
