Tom Clancy's "The Division," an action shooter game developed by Ubisoft, was released on March 8 and now has been breaking sales records. GameSpot reported the studio announcing that "The Division" was able to sell more game copies in a matter of 24 hours than any other video game released by Ubisoft.  The company announced the news in a press release by the company. It also said that the game is also a digital record setter across different platforms such as Xbox and PS4.

Although the studio claimed "The Division" as the fastest-selling game in history, no exact figures or details have been released regarding the game's sales 24 hours after the launch.

Because of "The Division's" success, Ubisoft massive managing director David Polfeldt said that they are very satisfied with the performance of the game in the market and they are happy that they made "The Division" a massive video game hit.  According to him, this is a representation of what the studio company does at its best, taking into consideration the effort given by Massive studios and its associate companies to come with such a high-end game.

Later on, Ubisoft revealed that "The Division" already gathered sales of up to $300 million dollars in its first five days, further cementing its record as the highest grossing video game, not only for the company but also for the whole video gaming industry for a brand new game franchise at that time.

Following the huge success of the game, Ubisoft also announced that they are going to release a new update . It is still not clear what exactly the update is all about and when it will be released.

"The game may have just released but we already have a new update for you to dive into! This will be in your hands next week and fear not, more information about it will be revealed very soon so keep your eyes peeled," Ubisoft said in statement posted on "The Division" blog site.
