"Tom Clancy's The Division" went live on public test servers (PTS) on Sept. 26. Ubisoft mentioned that gamers who have the PC edition of the game can to access the PTS but they need to download a different version.

On the PTS, players are able to test update 1.4 before the game officially launches in October. Hence, this is a massive opportunity for the developers to take note of the players' comments.

More importantly, developers are going to know what they need to tweak to give players the best gaming experience. Feedback is crucial and the developers are encouraging fans to participate.

Gamers who have "The Division" on PC can find "The Division PTS" in My Games on Uplay or Library on Steam. The PTS version is listed separately from the main game since it is considered as a new version of the title.

Hence, to play on the PTS, players need to download the new game which takes up 45 GB of space. To note, downloading the game would not overwrite the existing client. Gamers can find it in a new folder.

In the first week of testing, players would assess the progression between World Tiers, particularly from World Tier 1 to Tier 4. To experience an actual progression, characters would not be transferred from the live version to the PTS. Players have a level 30 character with Purple Items instead. Gamers can accomplish the quest by acquiring the first High End and Gear Set items in Tier 1 and then they need to survive and work their way to Tier 4.

Developers need feedback on the progression pace and the difficulty in each Tier. Participants are asked to answer a survey so the creators can consolidate the necessary data.

"The Division" development team has also been encouraging participants to leave their feedback and their game experience on the official PTS forums.
