Titanfall 2 news: Release date, features and teaser revealed

Respawn Entertainment

The most-awaited sequel to the successful "Titanfall" franchise will finally be introduced in the upcoming E3 2016.

EA confirmed the news, along with a recently released teaser of the game. In an interview with Forbes, lead writer Jason Stern said that the fans of the first installment will not be disappointed with Respawn's latest offering. As compared to the first "Titanfall," he assured gamers that it will even be better than its predecessor. "The multi-player game will be even better than it was the first time around. The first game was an Xbox exclusive (initially). This one is going to be widely available, I believe on all platforms. One of the shortcomings of the first game was we just did not have the mechanism to tell everyone 'here's who you are, here's where you are and who's around you.' We knew all the answers, we just could not deliver it," he said.

For those who cannot wait until the E3 2016, Stern was generous enough to provide a short but definitive description on how they wanted the game to look life. So we are doing our best to deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space. We imagined the next generation of immigrants moving out to the new frontier of an inhabitable planet. Rather than taking a traditional sci-fi approach to that we wanted to look at how that would happen practically, what the ships would look like and with machines that were designed for excavation and construction, demolition and working the land, and what happens when they are turned into instruments of war," Stern explained.

While fans anticipate the E3 Event to have a glimpse of the game, Stern has also confirmed that a TV spinoff is on the table. According to Stern, it was the idea of Respawn CEO Vince Zampella to "diversify" the show for a much wider audience. However, Stern mentioned that there might be some obstacles before the program becomes materialized. "It would be very expensive. We are trying to find a way to tell a story in the worlds we want to be in and produce in the TV model," Stern said.
