Tim Tebow encouraged to run for congress by Republicans

When former National Football League (NFL) star Tim Tebow said that he would consider going into politics later on in his life, Republican strategists in Florida were listening. He is now reportedly being encouraged by Republicans in the state to run for Congress in Florida's fourth district.
The area includes Jacksonville, the hometown of Tebow, who used to play quarterback for the University of Florida Gators. The 28-year-old also has businesses in the district, including XV Enterprises and Tim Tebow Foundation.
In an interview with Fox News, Tebow said that the prospect of getting into politics to make a difference was "intriguing," but there has been no confirmation if he intends to do so.
The congressional seat will be vacated after the surprising announcement of the retirement of 71-year old Republican Congressman Ander Crenshaw, who has also announced that he will not run for re-election.
Republican strategists have been talking about Tebow's chances of winning the congressional seat. In a recent interview with Washington Examiner, Ron Bonjean said, "Like his career with the Denver Broncos, the primary game is going to be extremely competitive so Tebow may have to once again come from behind late in the 4th quarter in order to pull this off."
There are supporters who have also been encouraging Tim Tebow to go into politics. Conservative website Red Alert Politics has been pushing for the Republican Party to bring Tebow into the party. Aside from being popular in the state, these advocates see Tim Tebow as a person who will be able to easily relate with the voters from the youth sector.
Going into congress may be the fastest and easiest way for Tebow to get into politics. If he wins the primaries, it is said that it will be easy for him to win because the area is highly Republican.
