'Thor: Ragnarok' spoilers, plot news 2016: Tessa Thompson to appear as Valkyrie? Tom Hiddleston to play Loki in future Marvel films
There is only limited information at present about the upcoming Marvel feature film "Thor: Ragnarok." While it is known that the latest "Thor" sequel to be led by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is going to introduce the great war of the Norse gods called "Ragnarok," it is still not identified how the plot is going to be laid out. Also, a new female character is reported to be introduced in the upcoming "Thor" movie who will play a very vital role in the story. Also, another big star of "Thor," Tom Hiddleston, revealed in an interview that his character, Loki, may actually appear in more Marvel films after "Thor: Ragnarok."

According to a report from Slash Films, "Creed" and "Dear White People" star Tessa Thompson has signed for a very special role in the forthcoming "Thor" film. The reports suggest that Thompson will be playing the role of Valkyrie, a popular female warrior of Asgard. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the character of Valkyrie will also be known as Brunnhilde.
In the "Thor" mythos, Brunnhilde or Valkyrie is a female Asgardian with remarkable strength and skills that is assigned by Odin to lead the Valkyrior group and save the fallen warriors in Valhalla. According to the same publication, Thompson might also reprise the role of Valkyrie in future Marvel movies such as "Avengers: Infinity War." Valkyrie may also be the new love interest of Thor in the movie.
It was reported that Valkyrie is supposed to be included in 2013's "Thor: The Dark World," but the character was pulled out at the last minute due to the leaked concept arts of Valkyrie during that time.
On the other hand, Tom Hiddleston revealed in an interview with the New York Daily News that he may actually appear in more Marvel movies after "Thor: Ragnarok." This is contrary to his previous statements that Hiddleston's character will be last seen in the third "Thor" movie. He added that he already knows how many times Loki will appear in different movies throughout the MCU's Phase 3.
