'This Is Us' season 1 spoilers, update: Secrets and confrontations threaten to tear the Pearsons apart

There's trouble brewing in the horizon for the Pearson family both in the present and the past. Could these be the kinds of problems that ultimately bring people closer, or would these be the ones that gradually tear them apart?
NBC's hit family series, "This Is Us" returns after a two-week hiatus with an episode that seems to open up a can of worms that could resonate into the succeeding episodes. Titled "The Best Washing Machine in the Whole World," episode 7 promises to bring the tiny waves of tension in the relationship between Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Kevin (Justin Hartley) to light, and reveal the reasons behind their civil though mostly awkward interactions.
But while the episode preview shows a one-on-one between brothers, it does not seem to guarantee if it will enable them to bond or pull them apart for good.
The episode also teases a bonding moment between Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and her husband's biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones). This ultimately leads to the revelation of a secret that William has been keeping from his son. Could this be the secret that he promised Rebecca (Mandy Moore) he will never reveal to William? And now that Randall has a chance to know that William did want to be a part of his life, will this truth put a wall between him and his adoptive mother?
Kate also catches her new beau Toby (Chris Sullivan) in a lie when she surprises him with an unannounced visit. The synopsis states that Toby has been straying from his diet regimen and discovering this could potentially throw Kate into a crisis with her own personal issues.
The Pearson family's past does not look so well either as Rebecca's decision to go back to work leads the Big Three's mom and dad to confront the truth about their growing distance. Will they be able to overcome this crisis for their children, or will separation eventually turn out to be the best choice for everyone involved?
The next episode of "This Is Us" airs on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
