Tensions will run high in this week's episode of NBC's family drama "This is Us" season 1.

In the show's upcoming episode, the Pearson family is preparing for Thanksgiving, which means they will be traveling for six hours to Rebecca's (Mandy Moore) parents' home. However, before they hit the road, Rebecca must first make a perfect cranberry sauce or she won't hear the end of it from her mother (Elizabeth Perkins).

Actor Sterling K. Brown, who plays Randall, recently caught up with Entertainment Tonight and he revealed  teasers about tonight's Thanksgiving episode. The actor mentioned that some secrets may possibly be revealed. "My wife knows that my mom has known my biological father all of my life," he said. "So that is something that may or not be revealed in the Thanksgiving episode."

While the series continues to delve deeper into Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Randall's complicated dynamic, Brown said it's only a matter of time before fans will see Randall and Kate's (Chrissy Metz) relationship when they were kids. "Kate will likely—after Thanksgiving—go back to the West Coast, but in future episodes that relationship will definitely be explored," he continued.

The last time viewers saw Kate, she was caving to Toby's (Chris Sullivan) peer pressure and eating donuts in a parking lot. The low moment in her weight loss journey will eventually push Kate to make a life-changing decision, and she will do it by the end of tonight's episode.

As noted by TV Guide, Kate's decision will have a huge impact on her ability to shed the pounds. Unfortunately for the Pearson daughter, her family doesn't have the reaction that she's hoping to see when she makes her announcement. Since she mostly relies on Kevin for support, not getting a positive from her family will be a devastating blow for her.

"This is Us" season 1 airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
