New content for CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3 has long been on the horizon, and it seems like it will be released a few months from now. As leaked by a Polish gaming website, the Blood and Wine expansion will be available on June 7.

GRYOnline was first to reveal the launch date for the expansion, but the post is now unavailable. However, the company has yet to address if the leak was true.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red unveiled a new cover art for Blood and Wine via Twitter. This further supports the rumors that the expansion will most likely arrive anytime soon. NeoGaf previously leaked an almost-identical cover art, along with the report that the new expansion will have a similarity with the Hearts of Stone expansion. The forum thread mentioned that Blood and Wine will have a "physical edition," with a download code plus two decks of Gwent cards.

On top of the base game, Blood and Wine is said to have additional 20 hours gameplay. New quests will be available, along with side-quests and interactive characters. Apart from battling with other characters, romance is also made possible in the game. Developers noted that the forthcoming expansion will have a size as huge as the main location in the initial release of The Witcher 3, according to Cinemablend.

The company previously dubbed the expansion as "even better than the main game," but CD Projekt Red marketing lead Michal Platkow-Gilewski later on clarified the statement via IGN. "I wouldn't point fingers at what's better separately," he said. He went on to confirm that the updates "enriches the overall experience." To boot, the base game incorporated with two of the expansions "is simply better than without them."

Once Blood and Wine comes out, it is set to have a price of $19.99. Gamers expect the expansion quality to match the price, since the first expansion Hearts of Stone was sold at a much lower price tag of $9.99.
