'The Witcher 3' DLC release date, updates: 'Blood and Wine' coming during first half of 2016, spells the end of Geralt's story

The upcoming DLC of "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt," is currently being cooked up by CD Projekt and there have been no official confirmations or announcements given by the company regarding the release date of the game. The most prominent report about the DLC release states that the content pack named "Blood and Wine" can be expected in the first six months of 2016, possibly by June.
It is still unclear when exactly the game will be launched in the first half of this year, although it has been reported that the DLC is in its final phase of formulation before it can be released. As the gaming world is still waiting for that day that the DLC pack will be out, fans of "The Witcher" series were given some details on what to expect with "Blood and Wine." iDigitalTimes website reported the interview of "The Witcher" Senior Story Writer Jakub Szamalek with the EuroGamer in which he revealed that Geralt of Rivia, the main protagonist of "The Witcher III: Wid Hunt," will see the end of his story with the upcoming DLC.
"With Blood and Wine will try to close, at least for a while time, with the universe of The Witcher. It will be the last adventure of Geralt as a main character. But beyond that there is still nothing written in stone. Blood and Wine will be our conclusion of the story of Geralt, then it's time to focus with all the energy of Cyberpunk 2077," Szamalek told EuroGamer.
When asked about the new story that will be introduced in "Blood and Wine" DLC, Szamalek said that its plot will be separate from the existing plot of "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt" and may not be necessarily related to the actual story. "'Blood and Wine' is an independent history, not tied in particularly closely with the main plot of the Wild Hunt. With our experience and feedback received since the game is on sale, we believe we have achieved something even better than the main game," he stated.
