The April 12 premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 on HBO is fast approaching, and yet there is still no confirmation regarding the release date of "The Winds of Winter," the upcoming sixth novel of  "A Song of Fire and Ice" book series creator by the worldwide best-selling author George R. R. Martin. The hit HBO epic drama series is heavily based on "A Song of Fire and Ice," but Martin assured the fans that whatever will be shown in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 will not spoil something "big" in any events that will take place in his forthcoming book.

According the report from Amazon Adviser via Yibada website, Martin has announced that the public can expect "The Winds of Winter" being released not later than the seventh season of "Game of Thrones." Since Season 6 will be shown first on TV before "The Winds of Winters" gets published, there are worries that the creative staff of "Game of Thrones" would need to spoil some scenes from the unpublished book itself in order to show something on TV.

As reported in Yibada, the highly renowned author even admitted himself that there is a very high chance that events in "The Winds of Winter" will be spoiled to readers in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. Due to this, he came up with a "big twist" that he claimed HBO will not be able to include in the TV series.

In a separate interview, "Game of Thrones" cocreator David Benioff told Entertainment Weekly that spoilers for Martin's "The Winds of Winter" will not be present in the upcoming season.

"People are talking about whether the books are going to be spoiled, and it's really not true. So much of what we're doing diverges from the books at this point. And while there are certain key elements that will be the same, we're not going to talk so much about that, and I don't think George (Martin) is either. People are going to be very surprised when they read the books after the show. They're quite divergent in so many respects for the remainder of the show," Benioff said.
