"The Winds of Winter" release date rumors and news: The book will reveal Jon Snow's parents?
George R.R. Martin or GRRM has yet to announce the date of the release of his new book "The Winds of Winter." While fans are agonizing the revelation from HBO that John Snow has already been declared dead and no chance of coming back to the show, they are hoping that the book will tell a different story.
However, Latin Post reported that GRRM has admitted that fans may have to wait a little longer for the next book. According to the author, he is currently experiencing numerous distractions, which hinders him to concentrate on the upcoming book.
"You can blame my travels or my blog posts or the distractions of other objects and the Cocteau," admits the popular author. "You can also blame my age, but if truth be told, sometimes the writing goes well and sometimes it doesn't."
There are also reports circulating that GRRM may reveal Jon Snow's real parents in the upcoming book, which is set to come out early next year.
Meanwhile, while GRRM could not completely focus on the new book's completion, he has kept himself busy by supporting the fund-raising event, which aims to help cancer victims. The affair is called "Bookworm." The writer has also encouraged his supporters to donate and support the cause, in which in return, they will have a chance to win numerous signed books from him including his own – "Tuf Voyaging," "Windhaven," and "The Ice Dragon."
GRRM has also refused to provide further details with regard to the upcoming book, "The Winds of Winter."
During their interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dan Weiss and David Benioff assured fans that "Game of Thrones" season 6 is definitely not going to spoil the book. They hinted that the show and the book will have sort of like a different story when they compare it in the future.
"People are going to be very surprised when they read the books after the show," said Benioff during the interview.
Rumor has it that "The Winds of Winter" will come out in 2017; however, the sixth season of the TV show will premiere on April 24.
