"Coda" is the title of the mid-season finale of "The Walking Dead," which is expected to have a huge dose of action and heartrending scenes when it airs on Sunday at 9/8c on AMC.

There have been rumors all season long that this season of "The Walking Dead" will see the death of a major character. It looks like the upcoming episode will see a "regular" from the show meeting his or her end.

Who will die is still being debated. However, Norman Reedus (who plays Daryl Dixon) recently divulged that he will figure in an emotional scene during the mid-season finale and that he can't help cry over it. Reedus also described the episode as devastating and noted that it would start with him ready to burn the hospital down to rescue Carol and Beth.

This statement from Reedus led many fans to infer that either Carol (Melissa McBride) or Beth (Emily Kinney) would die.

The last episode titled "Crossed" saw Carol unconscious in the hospital while Beth tried to revive her by giving her epinephrine. It also saw Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) being knocked out by a cop from Grady Memorial Hospital and lying in an abandoned warehouse. While these three characters seemed to be most at risk, several sites are noting that other characters could also die when they attack the hospital to rescue Beth and Carol.

Most are betting that the character who will die will be Beth, as Kinney has been missing from the shooting location in Atlanta after the eighth episode. Also in the last season she grew pretty close to Daryl before she was abducted by the cops from Grady, and it could be one reason why Reedus described the episode as "devastating" for his character.

Over the years, fans of "The Walking Dead" have learned that none of the characters on the show are safe, and that several fan favorites have been killed off. That trend adopted by producers of the show looks set to continue in this season, too.
