'The Walking Dead' season 7 spoilers: Who is Negan's mystery victim?

The season 6 finale of hit AMC series "The Walking Dead" may have shown one of the biggest cliffhangers in television when newly introduced villain Negan killed an unknown character.
Unfortunately for fans, they will remain in the dark until for a good six months. That is until the fall 2016 premiere of the show's seventh season.
In an interview with Hollywood Life, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd confirmed that the character killed by Negan will be revealed in the season 7 premiere. For now, all they can do is speculate given that the show is known to be very secretive when it comes to spoilers. The showrunner also took the opportunity to clarify the previous cliffhangers that left no clues for the audience, similar to what happened with Glenn. "Look, with the Glenn situation, we very much wanted the audience to be in the same position as Maggie and everyone else was. Which is there is no way to know. It's not like he has a cell phone and can call someone and say, 'You know what, I'm actually OK.'"
Speaking of Glenn, there are rumors that there is a high possibility that he was the one Negan killed. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, the speculation makes sense because of actor Steven Yeun's one-year contract which includes six seasons only. Being one of the few remaining characters from the pilot episode, Glenn might possibly bite the dust come season 7 with all his near-death episodes in the past.
Scott Gimple, another executive producer of the show is fairly confident that fans will not able to figure out the identity of Negan's victim. "I believe there is no way," Gimple told Comicbook.com. "There are a couple of things in there that might help people possibly limit the amount of people who are vulnerable but I will say, I would recommend people not to go down that route. I truly don't think there is a way to puzzle it all out definitively."
