Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) unannounced visit to Alexandria may have just led to his downfall as Rick (Andrew Lincoln) finally comes to his senses and decides that he and his people have had enough.

The Saviors' reign of terror is about to end when "The Walking Dead" returns for the back half of its seventh season. In a sneak peek released by AMC on its official YouTube channel, Rick and his crew are shown walking away from what seems to have been a failed attempt to get The Hilltop's leader, Gregory (Xander Berkeley), to support their cause.

Ricks starts talking about possibly recruiting another group, but only after checking in with Alexandria first since The Saviors will come looking for their escaped prisoner, Daryl (Norman Reedus), there. Jesus (Tom Payne) tells them they don't have to go back, and that they can instead listen in on The Saviors' communications via the long-range radio he has managed to snatch from one of them.

He also goes on to suggest that it's time for Rick and crew to meet King Ezekiel (Khary Payton). How can Rick persuade the peace-loving leader of The Kingdom to fight alongside them to bring The Saviors down once and for all? And while they're at it, will they also be able to convince Carol (Melissa McBride) to get back out on the fray, especially after they tell her about Glenn's (Steven Yeun) and Abraham's (Michael Cudlitz) deaths in the hands of Negan?

The official trailer for season 7's upcoming arc titled, "Rise Up," suggests that Rick may initially be met with resistance from the King. But the persistent leader of Alexandria will also show determination that may eventually make Ezekiel change his mind.

Rick's mind is set on taking the fight to Negan and winning it whatever it takes. How would Negan and The Saviors retaliate? Whose lives will be put on the line and who will have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring peace to the New World?

"The Walking Dead" season 7 episode 9 airs next year on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
