Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently dropped hints for the premiere episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead" season 7. His statement led fans of the show to believe that not one but two main characters will be killed in the opening episode.

To recap, the final episode for season 6 was a brutal cliffhanger, wherein almost all of the remaining main characters of the show were lined up, prepared for a bad beating and an imminent death.

After the group killed several of the Saviors' members, Morgan's Negan, the leader of the Saviors gang, rounded up the characters and threatened their group. He is going to let go of the rest of the characters, given that they provide the Saviors with most of their food, weapons, ammo and other necessities.

Negan, however, will have to pick one character to bludgeon with his customized baseball bat, which he named Lucille.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Morgan told the news outlet that "Negan's not just going to kill one person in [the premiere]," before adding, "He's not afraid of bashing in skulls."

Immediately after news of this interview broke out, reports about the fan theory suggesting Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham's (Michael Cudlitz) deaths started to circulate.

After his statement went viral, Morgan clarified the comment he made in the previous interview.

He told  Variety Latino, "That's not what I said. I did an interview with this guy and I was talking about Negan's arc and what he does in the course of being Negan on The Walking Dead. Instead of talking about the one person Negan kills—because Negan kills a lot more than one person on the lineup."

"The Walking Dead" season 7 returns to AMC on Sunday October 23 at 9 p.m. EDT.
