'The Walking Dead' season 7 news, updates: Scene featuring Negan's alternate victim leaked online; Star speaks on character's brutal death

Executive producers of "The Walking Dead" revealed during the season 7 premiere that they shot multiple versions of the much-hyped death scene involving Negan, and a new clip featuring the villain's alternate victim was recently leaked online.
The decision to shoot alternate death scenes was mostly done in an effort to deter spoilers, and it certainly worked. The uncertainty made fans even more curious, leading an average of 17 million viewers to watch Sunday's premiere. What shocked the anticipating audience even more is that instead of just one, two characters were killed: Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun).
Now that the truth is out there, someone from the show probably thought it was already safe to leak one of the death scene versions on YouTube. Released earlier this week, the clip shows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) as the unfortunate character who dies in Negan's hands. To date, AMC still has yet to comment on the said alternate version.
Meanwhile, Yeun is gracing the cover of this week's Entertainment Weekly and in an interview, the actor shared his thoughts on leaving the series as Glenn. According to him, his exit was a "really confusing time" because he had mixed emotions about it.
"It was a sense of relief that a chapter was closing," he said, "a sense of accomplishment in looking back and seeing all the things that I got to be a part of, a sense of sadness in knowing that I don't get to work with these people in the same capacity again, and a sense of confusion because I didn't know how to place a lot of it because I had to keep it secret."
Keep tuning in to "The Walking Dead" season 7 airing every Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on AMC.
