'The Walking Dead' Season 7 news, rumors: Creator tells what's next; Who gets hit by 'Lucile' in Season 6 cliffhanger?

"The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale was a shocker and it left many fans of the hit AMC series on the edge of their seats, especially in the final scene when one of the show's most loved characters had the taste of death in the most gruesome way possible. However, the ending scene was shot in such a fashion that viewers had no clue who the unfortunate character was killed.
The final episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 finally introduced the main bad guy of the Saviors, the armed group which has appeared to be the new antagonistic persona for the past few episodes. The merciless leader of the group is Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and his first appearance in the show is a proven show-stopper, as he grabbed a huge wooden bat with barbed wires around its top and pointed the deadly weapon to each of the main characters who were all lined up and down on their knees with their hands tied.
As he was deciding who to kill among the persons kneeling in front of him in an "eenie miney mo" fashion, he stopped by a particular person, whose face was not shown with his or her point of view was that of the viewers. Negan then mercilessly hit the unlucky person with the bat, named as "Lucile" in the original "The Walking Dead" comic version. The scene went black, implying that death had overcome the character.
While not much can be revealed at this point about the huge cliffhanger in the finale, there are a few details that can be spilled, including the date of the anticipated return of the show for Season 7. The Inquisitr noted that the premiere date can be expected sometime in October as usual, with either Oct. 9 or 16 as the possible exact date.
The same report from The Inquisitr revealed that while Negan's murderous stint in the finale is shrouded in mystery, the members of "The Walking Dead" cast themselves have no clue who the poor victim is.
In a recent interview of "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman with Hollywood Life, the showrunner spilled some beans regarding the much anticipated Season 7, even describing the yet-to-be-aired next chapter of the series as "insane."
"I think that the show is changing and evolving at such a rapid pace now that it is getting really exciting for me," Kirkman added. "It is unique for a show to get to the good stuff in the sixth and seventh season and I feel like that is what we are doing! And I am excited about that!" Kirkman said.
A report from Yibada also revealed additional cast members for the seventh season. Alicia Witt announced on her social media account that she will be a part of the show, although her role was not disclosed.
"The Walking Dead" was announced to be renewed for Season 7 on Oct. 30, 2015, the same month when the sixth season premiered.
