'The Walking Dead' Recap And Spoilers: Eugene's Secret Revealed

Viewers learned more about Abraham Ford's (Michael Cudlitz) backstory in the latest episode of "The Walking Dead" last Sunday.

Titled "Self Help," the episode also revealed that Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) did not have the cure for the zombie epidemic. "The Walking Dead" airs every Sunday at 9/8c on AMC.

The episode revealed that Abraham cannot be trusted and that his wife and children left him after witnessing his brutal killing of walkers. His wife and children eventually died.

The group experiences a series of misfortunes, starting with the fuel tank explosion that caused their bus to crash. It was revealed that Eugene put pieces of glass into the fuel tank to sabotage their attempt to get to Washington.

Eugene admitted his sabotage plot to Tara played (Alanna Masterson). He confided that he did not actually have the cure for the zombie epidemic and was only claiming to have one so that others would help him survive. Tara then assured him that they were not like the others and that they would protect him. She then promised to keep his secret.

The episode also revealed how Eugene was first saved by Abraham who was about to commit suicide after his wife's death. Since then he has been driven by the mission to get Eugene to Washington.

The last part of the episode saw Eugene admitting publicly that he did not have the cure for the epidemic and was punched severely by Abraham.

In the next episode, viewers will learn more about Beth's fate and whether or not Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) will be able to save her.

The previous episode saw Beth watching as Carol was brought into the hospital where she was held. It looks likes the action in the next episode titled "Consumed" will focus on the events that result in Carol being brought to the hospital.
