The Voice Season 7 Winner Craig Wayne Boyd Performance Blows Away Fans

"The Voice" just concluded its seventh season with Craig Wayne Boyd declared as the winner following a stiff competition with three other contestants -- Matt McAndrew, Chris Jamison and Damien Lawson.
In the finals that took place on Dec. 15, the four contestants had to sing three songs each -- a cover, a duet with their coach and finally an original song. The judging was based on their performances.
On Dec. 16, the day of the finale, several stars took to the stage. They included Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars and Meghan Trainor.
McAndrew teamed up with Fall Out Boy in singing "Centuries." Next came Boyd together with Lynyrd Skynyrd singing "Sweet Home Alabama."
Lawson and Jennifer Hudson then performed "It's Your World." Finally, Jamison and Jessie J sang "Masterpiece."
After Boyd was declared as the winner, he performed the final song "My Baby's Got a Smile On Her Face" with his family on stage.
Boyd was the only remaining member from Team Blake in the finals. In his victory speech, he said he will start touring soon and expects to make over 250 appearances. He also paid tribute to his mentor Blake who, he said, advised him to "be myself and don't let people change me."
Boyd said winning the title on "The Voice" will help him look after his son Jaxon, who is two years old. The win "changed my life as a father in the fact that I can now provide for him much better than I have in the past," he said.
Beaming with pride, Boyd said "one of the coolest things that happened to me was to hear people say 'I don't listen to country music but I love what you do.'"
