'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder talks 'Delena' reunion; Nina Dobrev to have more scenes with Paul Wesley?

While fans are still hoping for a romantic reunion between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) in the final season of "The Vampire Diaries," it seems that Somerhalder does not foresee "Delena" reunion in the show.
In a recent interview with TVLine, the lead actor mentioned that he doesn't see the two characters being back in each other's arms when the long-running drama ends. "This poor young girl from this tiny town ... she lost everyone she's ever loved, she burned her house down, she's now in a box," he explained. "These guys have ruined her life, yet everybody wants her to end up with one of them."
To date, Dobrev still hasn't confirmed whether she'll return to the series' farewell season or not. Back in August, The CW President Mark Pedowitz announced that the show's execs were having discussions with the actress. Since then, no official update was given about her possible comeback for season 8. According to reports, Dobrev's Elena will have more scenes with Stefan (Paul Wesley) if she returns. After all, Stefan and Elena also loved each other once and it won't be surprising for fans to see them back together.
Set to air later this month, the season 8 premiere titled "Hello, Brother" picks up months after Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) mysteriously vanished from the Armory vault. Stefan will stop at nothing to find them, while Bonnie (Kat Graham) struggles with the idea of them being lost forever.
Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric (Matt Davis) fear that someone may be targeting their family after a dangerous encounter with an unexpected visitor. Later in the episode, the mysterious clues Stefan has found will lead him to realize that the creature that captured his brother may be more threatening than he could ever imagine.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 premieres on Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
