The premiere gave fans a glimpse of the horror to be dealt with this season. Now, episode 2 titled "Today Will Be Different" will learn more about who is pulling the strings.

As revealed in the promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 2, Sybil uses Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) as her "loyal soldiers to keep bringing her supper."

By supper, she meant innocent people, whose deaths appear to be making her more powerful. The promo also teases that she controls the minds of the two men.

The promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 2 shows her interrupt Damon's memory of Elena (Nina Dobrev), who appears to be the force that allows Damon to fight Sybil's control over his mind.

Damon has successfully tricked Sybil into thinking that he is fully controlled by her. It was revealed that he deliberately turned the switch off so Sybil would not know who he cares about.

However, the secret will be known to her in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 2 as it appears that the baddie will finally learn Damon's deepest concerns.

This could lead her to messing with his memories to keep Damon under her control, but whatever Sybil has in mind is a mystery as not much about her has been revealed.

However, co-stars Paul Wesley and Somerhalder shared a bit about Kelley's character during an interview with TVLine.

"This season is really about... the conclusion of what evil sins must these characters pay their dues for," Wesley explained, implying that Sybil will be the one to bring them judgment day.
