Ahead of a full trailer expected to be released in this week's San Diego Comic-Con, the network launched three 10-second promo clips showing exciting scenes. In the first teaser titled "Underground," Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather (Corey Stoll) appears to be starting his car when a Strigoi comes out of nowhere and growls against the window.

The next clip titled "Hunted" shows Fet (Kevin Durand) as he speaks to some guards, informing them that the Strigois are tracking them down. In the last clip titled "Sighting," Fet attempts to kill Eichhorst (Richard Sammel) by shooting him, but he misses.

Season 2 left off with major character deaths which include Eldritch Palmer's (Jonathan Hyde) love interest Coco (Lizzie Brocheré) and Dr. Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro). To fill the void left by the said characters, two new faces will be introduced. One of them is Kroft, a Navy SEAL team leader who will hunt down Strigois. The other newcomer is NYPD captain Kate Nelson (America Olivo), who will be heading the new squad of combatants.

The storyline for season 3 will be set in New York City as it becomes a battleground. The government has given up on its people, and every citizen must fend for themselves against the blood-sucking Strigois. While fighting for their lives, the humans must deal with disappointment, personal conflicts, paranoia and betrayal. With the Master close to materializing his plan to change the world forever, it is now up to the citizens to save the human race.

The main actors for this season's ensemble cast are Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Natalie Brown, Miguel Gomez, Max Charles, Ruta Gedmintas, Rupert Penry-Jones, Samantha Mathis and Joaquín Cosío.

Tune in to the season 3 premiere of "The Strain" which airs on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
