Lady Liberty became a Strigoi in the recently-released poster for the upcoming third season of FX's horror thriller series "The Strain."

New York City has been consumed by the evil epidemic and no one can do anything to stop it. Without the government's help, it is now up to the citizens to fight for survival. According to the  synopsis for the entire season 3, the plot will pick up on the events after Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather and his allies failed to defeat the Master. With the help of  Dr. Nora Martinez,Eph will concentrate on creating a biological weapon to hopefully eliminate the evil creatures.

Meanwhile, Abraham Setrakian goes on a mission to search for an ancient book which might reveal more information on the Strigoi's entire history and possibly on ways to kill them. The Master is out for blood, plotting for his huge revenge. His next move involves unleashing more threatening bloodthirsty monsters to kill every human in sight. The humans must find a way to defeat him before the infection spreads further and before they turn into monsters themselves.

A new behind-the-scenes sneak peak has been released during this year's Comic-Con featuring the new breed of Strigois out to wreak havoc on the city. They are now faster, smarter and even look scarier. Not only the vampires are evolving, as Vasily Fet was revealed to have his own private army who will fight back against the frightening creatures.

To give fans an insight of what to expect in the season 3 premiere episode, the summary for "New York Strong" reads:

"The strigoi are evolving, becoming faster. Smarter. Eph struggles to improve his failing bioweapon while trying to work through the emotional fallout of the abduction of his son, Zack. As Setrakian and Quinlan attempt to crack the Lumen's deepest-held secrets, Fet helps a Navy SEAL team in a deadly mission: search for the Master through the underground tunnels of New York."

All of the main characters are set to reprise their roles including Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Natalie Brown, Miguel Gomez, Max Charles, Ruta Gedmintas, Rupert Penry-Jones, Samantha Mathis and Joaquín Cosío.
