Many "Sims" players are wondering if Electronic Arts will soon be starting to develop "The Sims 5." It has been a while since the game developer company came up with "The Sims 4," and people are thinking whether their current life simulation video game will get a follow-up in the coming years. However, the future of "The Sims 5" is still uncertain at this point.

One of the main reasons why "The Sims 5" is not expected to arrive in the near future is because of the continuing release of the downloadable content packs for "The Sims 4." According to Yibada, Electronic Arts may be too busy in improving the gameplay contents of "The Sims 4," and as they continue to expand the world of the video game, any plans of venturing to an all-new "Sims" game title is still not in the options. To recall, "The Sims 4" recently had an expansion pack released last July called the "Backyard Stuff." According to the online publication, another DLC pack is expected to arrive in "The Sims 4" sometime this Fall. It is rumored that this Fall DLC pack has something to do with city living.

According to a report from Cinema Blend, Maxis and The Sims Studios, the huge game outlets behind the successful "The Sims" franchise, are not yet ready to go on with a new "Sims" game in the future. This is mainly because of the poor reviews that "The Sims 4" is getting over the past several months. As their current video game is still not enjoying high sales performance, a fifth game cannot be expected to happen in the meantime. If anything, the game studios would continue to improve their current game in hopes that the players would find "The Sims 4" interesting and boost its sales.

However, neither Electronic Arts, The Sims Studios or Maxis has disclosed any information regarding their plans to make "The Sims 5." As the info for a fifth "Sims" installment still under wraps, the players can expect more interesting stuff packs coming their way in "The Sims 4." If an increase in sales is all that the game studios are waiting for to think about "The Sims 5," perhaps the game breaching the 5 million sales mark could be an indication of things to come.
